  1. What about encryption? Which one uses the hardest algorithms to break and has the overall smallest chance of your data getting leaked?

  2. What are your thoughts on the fact that Proton Pass does not allow you to have a separate password from your other proton services, such as email? They have added a secondary password that you have to enter along with the main password that is for their other services. I’m not sure how secure that would be.

  3. I used Bitwarden for a little while, but dropped it after only a few days because it forced me to enter my master password upon EVERY autofill on mobile. And, given the nature of a master password, I it makes it a huge pain to enter in. Even though they have a biometric option, i didn’t want to use it and I had no way of controlling how often I had to enter it. Being forced to enter in a 20+ character password over 30 times within the first 2 days of using a software was NOT something i wanted to deal with

  4. I see you put LastPass on the thumbnail, but I don’t think you mentioned them. Are they considered an absolute no-go?

  5. Why did you not include free open-source ones, such as KeePass? I’d say KeePass is one of the most relevant password managers around. Why on Earth would you leave something like that out???

  6. KeepassXC is excellent and it’s free and open source. You can backup your password database in whatever way you want instead of relying on a companies’ cloud storage.

  7. Something that seems to be overlook in SO MANY reviews like this is support. There are a stunning number of companies that create software/services and then put them out in the world with zero support. When the stuff hits the fan, you want to be able to get help/support. When shopping for new software/services, I put more value on support than just about any other "feature". I wish more reviews would focus on support. Maybe if they did, companies developing products might put more value on it and actually do support well.

  8. How can a backup be carried out sensibly and securely with Bitwarden? What can you recommend? What about 1Password?
Can individual passwords also be accessed offline using the backup?

  9. Bitwarden is easy to use and works great only cost like 10 bucks a year, unless that has changed and I used it for years, but now I moved to Proton Pass, it is not a good as Bitwarden but it is improving and it is very useable now at this point. I have secure email, drive, calendar, and vpn, so I just went for all in one package. I prefer Proton due to it being outside US jurisdiction, so 5, 7, 9, and 14 eyes are a no go for me. Everything is encrypted and secured, and last it is open source. I would consider it to be the best value as a suite of software.

  10. I am not tech savvy, but I use Brave Browser, don’t store any passwords, and keep my passwords hidden on a sheet of paper in my bookshelf, I have to put in my username and password by hand each time, but isn’t that the safest ?

  11. Why not also include Google Password Manager, Google Authenticator, and Microsoft Authenticator?

  12. Bitwarden is the best, free tire is more then enough. I personally just pay to support the developers. And about 2FA never, never put all your eggs in the same bucket.

  13. Piece of paper in my house. Coded. Split up. For infrequent access. Fewer thieves in my house than on-line.

  14. Very informative video on password managers, 2024. I work for a cybersecurity company called Securden and head the marketing team here. We provide enterprise password manager / PAM solution. Would you take some time to evaluate Securden password vault for enterprises?

  15. Which of these has integration with (1) FIDO security keys (NOT non FIDO compliant Yubikey) (2) Passkeys?
In theory, on the Browser, only true built-in Browser password management is truly secure, not any that use extensions, which is everything in your list.

  16. This is clearly an ad for proton. He mentions their name about 6 million times and only 1-2 times for the others.

  17. i still feel some skepticism towards storing my passwords digitally for some reason, feels better to store them physically. is there anything i can do to get over that thought?

  18. Go look at the new "Privacy Policy" that 1Password just released. Absolutely inexcusable. Time to move on from them after being a customer and moving many of my customers over to them ever since the decline of Dashlane. Looks like Bitwarden is the destination, unless new offerings from Apple or Microsoft are worth it. But 1Password is no longer a viable password manager.

  19. Is there a password manage that allows you to avoid the internet and all networks when syncing with your mobile devise; that is using a cable?

  20. hey you forgot SecureSafe is password and file manager based in Switzerland. Store your data deep in the Swiss mountains and protect it with the utmost care. By far best password manager it have mobile app and web browser app

  21. Bitwarden Free enables you to create shared vaults between two users.
This is a killer feature for couples who like to share some of their logins like Netflix and don’t want to pay ekstra for a family license 👍

  22. This video is clickbait. There is lastpass on thumbnail but he never mention it. It’s not even in the link

  23. What about the password managers being built into browsers? Is this the death of third party ones eventually?

  24. There are a lot of great options to choose from, so the worst thing you can do is just NOT use one! (unless you’re using LastPass, of course…in which case please stop using it). Which one have you chosen to use and why? Leave a comment.

  25. Newbie here. Landed here cuz all my Google passwords are gone (already tried all retrieval options.) So …must i really visit hundreds of my regular websites (where my passwords were stored) – and major hassle of having to go thru retrieval of usernames/and/or lost password? Or is there some solution I don’t know of? Is there a Maginal password manager that can batch help with a problem like this?

  26. I recently subscribed to Proton Pass, but I’ve encountered several issues:

    1. The interface is not intuitive.
    2. The subscription details are misleading and outdated.
    3. The layout is hard to navigate.
    4. While email aliases are a nice feature, the intro subscription only offers 10, which isn’t worth the $50+. The unlimited option is over $100, which seems unreasonable.
    5. Although there is a help desk, they’re unhelpful with glitches. They repeatedly explain steps, even when the feature in question is missing.

For the price, this service should be user-friendly for the average person, but it’s not. I give it 1 star.

  27. I been using Bitwarden Premium ($10/yr) for several years now. I like the open source aspect to security. I think if LastPass were open source someone would have pointed out their vulnerability years ago and they could have patched their application a lot sooner. So to me that is the beuty of open source is being able to have many programming eye balls on a project. This is the reason Linux OS is way more secure than many other closed Operating Systems.

  28. Ive been with lastpass for a few years I have had ni issues at all I recently went with proton for email I may just get the VPN a and password manager

  29. Thanks! I recently started using the free tier of Bitwarden, and it’s exactly what I was looking for. Great content!

  30. @AllThingsSecured Isn’t there an issue with open source when it comes to security, that you don’t know that the source that was published is the code you are using?
