  1. Hey @PeteMatheson, great content! I’m planning to buy an ultrawide monitor, and I’m really drawn to the sleek design of the Samsung 49” Odyssey, probably opting for the 1800R version instead of the 1000R. However, I want to make sure this purchase fits my needs, so I have a question for you.

I believe you’ve connected two computers to the same monitor before, but is there a way to easily switch between them using keyboard shortcuts or something like a Stream Deck? Ideally, I’d like to set up three buttons: one to switch the entire screen to my personal computer, another to switch the entire screen to my work computer, and a third button to split the monitor with my personal computer on the left and my work computer on the right.

Is this possible, or would I need to manually use the monitor’s menu to switch inputs or set up the split-screen view?

    Thanks in advance!

  2. Thanks for the video, doest the dell U4025QW model , support 120hz at high resolution 5120 x 2160, so if at high resolution it goes back to 60 hz?

  3. So what am looking for ultra wide 40” to 54” but I want thunderbolt 4 for my Mac book M3 Pro, and I also need support for windows. What monitor would you recommend? Also planning using the caldigit TS4

  4. For anyone interested in the Samsung Odyssey G9 57”, it’s currently $1599 on Amazon which is an insane price considering the list price is still $2499 normally.

  5. Hey everyone! Thanks for checking out this week’s video! What does your current monitor setup look like? Any dual-screen people still out there? πŸ˜‰

If your interested in one of the monitors I’ve mentioned in this video, then check out the links to the full reviews of those monitors in the description and… have a wonderful day!

  6. Hi, nice video. Can you suggest me a 34inch ips/va monitor for productivity/gaming with a usb-c port?

  7. I love how the title says "productivity" and the entire video shows him playing video games 🀣🀣

  8. Pete, what camera did you have mounted on the 40" dell for video calls, etc…? Does it have a built-in mic?

  9. is there any difference in the smoothness of pdf/webpage scrolling on 60Hz vs 240Hz lcd monitor?
given that the display card support such freq.

  10. The curve numerical (1000R, 1500R) is actually the radius of the curvature. essentialy, the monitor is an arc that is trimmed from a circle with that particular radius. From my guess, 1000R means a radius of 1000millimeters,

  11. What i miss in all these reviews. What if you buy the samsung 57 inch with high resolution and you work or home pc does not support the highest resolution then what? Will u have black bars all around or will you have a lower resolution but still full screen. My work has the latest microsoft laptop but my home pc is a HP G2 mini with intel 530 graphics.

  12. Could you recommend another 4K Monitor Mac friendly monitor with AMAZING specs that costs less? πŸ˜¬πŸ˜…
I need a 32 or 34" or larger 4K monitor for production and video editing on my M2! I just picked up the Alienware 32" 4K UHD 240Hz Curved QD-OLED Gaming Monitor (AW3225QF) on sale $1200 + tax Love the specs but still not sure of it’s overkill for what i need it for!? Also would love to spend lessπŸ˜…Wondering which 32"+ 4k monitor is best for my M2 Studio?

  13. Oh man. That dell 40” 5K2K with KVM sounds perfect. I constantly switch between three machines.

Gaming PC, work computer and my project/general use laptop.

Currently have a 144Hz 32” 4K monitor. At the office I have a 49” 5Kx1440. Home monitor is better for the height (more rows of code), but the width the office one has is simply amazing for productivity, but is a bit too wide.

So that 40” 5K2K would be the best of both!

  14. Very nice Video. I Need for my MacBook Pro M3 and new Mac Mini a Monitor 34 Zoll. Which would you prefer ? Thank you…

  15. I swear every every monitor "guide" cannot cannot leave out gaming.. no matter the title of the video lol

  16. Hi Pete. I really enjoyed this video but I’m still struggling to understand the concept of MacOS scaling and how much consideration I should place on it when selecting a productivity monitor for my Mac. Do you have any plans to produce a video discussing this issue in more detail? I’ve found current YouTube content on the topic very vague & I really like the way your videos explain things in lay-man’s terms. I’m sure there are many viewers that’d benefit from your explanation, particularly given the highly expected new MacMini release in October.

  17. Hi Pete
Do you recommend Thunderbolt or USB C to connect Mac Book Pro with an external monitor for productivity? I am deciding two productivity 4K monitors (32Inches and 40inches) one has USB and the other Thunderbolt (Dell U3223QE & Dell U4025QW). Thanks

  18. I am thinking about buying an OLED 2024 model from either Samsung, LG or MSI. I like how the OLED monitors look. I would hardly be doing any gaming on it, just productivity for work. Occasional youtube. Is that a mistake buying an OLED for just working not gaming?

  19. on macs, the ppis remain the same regardless of your resolution. So just adjust it to the resolution that yields the most readable size, you wont’ be losing quality

  20. PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE…hope that is enough. Im going to be buying Mac mini.
Dell UltraSharp 40" curved Thunderbolt Monitor-U4025QW.
    Thanks

  21. With latest macOS releases you can’t adjust the scale as easily as windows, but you can adjust _most_ of it now, including icon size on desktop (which affects more than just the icons), font size for most things, etc. Just takes more clicks. They really need to add this!

  22. Great review except the fact that there is no one word about OLED burn in. If this is a guide for picking a monitor for productivity, it means more static images and lots of text, exactly where OLED suffers the most

  23. hi, sir! can you suggest BEST 32-34" budget friendly monitor for graphic designs? badly need it πŸ₯Ή i’m from Philippines, sir. hoping for your answer πŸ™πŸ» thank you, sir!

  24. Thank you for the video. Can you please tell me what monitor is best for text quality. I write and read a lot. I hav Sony LCD monitor 19 inches but it is getting old. I need matte screen. Please advice. Thank you very much.
